Crosstimbers Food Pantry Endowed Fund

Goal: $2,457.00

Specific Need

For over ten years, Crosstimbers Food Pantry has led efforts to reduce food insecurity and improve community health. Through partnerships with Pathways to a Healthy Kansas, COPE, CHC/SEK, and local churches, we provide healthy food choices, fresh produce, nutrition support, and monthly access to medical professionals.

As we continue to serve families well beyond food assistance, our greatest need is long-term financial stability. The pantry relies solely on grants and fundraising, making an endowment essential for supporting ongoing operations and ensuring we can continue serving during funding gaps.

We are also preparing to build a new facility that will expand our ability to address food insecurity, improve nutrition, promote healthier lifestyles, and strengthen community connections.

Your Giving Tuesday support helps grow our endowment, secure our future, and build a healthier community for years to come.

Mission

Our mission is to improve the lives of those who have food insecurities in our community.

Profile

Crosstimbers Food Pantry Outreach Center

Our pantry numbers continue to rise each month, and we now serve over 200 families with no income guidelines required. In addition to monthly pantry boxes, we are an official TEFAP (Commodities) distribution site. Deliveries for both programs happen on separate days, but all food is distributed together—requiring additional food ordering and careful coordination to meet the growing demand.

To support this increase, a new building is coming soon. Crosstimbers Community Church has purchased nearly three city blocks in Edna to build an outreach center that will include:

  • A dedicated food pantry

  • A warehouse for expanded food storage

  • A commercial kitchen

  • A community meeting and education area

This new facility will streamline distribution, eliminate the need to move large amounts of food outdoors, and finally allow guests to once again choose their pantry items in a spacious, organized, healthy-choice layout.

Many organizations are ready to partner with us once the outreach center opens. Planned programs include medical services, cooking and nutrition classes, exercise programs, after-school activities, workforce development, and more—creating a true hub for community health, learning, and support.
