City of Altamont - Small Town Pride Endowed Fund

Goal: $5,000.00

Specific Need

The City of Altamont recently started a "Small Town Pride Fund" through the Parsons Area Community Foundation, with the main focus on parks and recreation and community beautification. Through this fund the City of Altamont is able to undertake and complete projects benefiting generations of residents from facility updates at our Pool, Park, and Veterans Memorial as well as maintaining and beautifying our city in various ways.

One of the areas the City is looking to use these funds is to finish the Veterans' Memorial located at 4th and Huston in Lansdowne Garden. The City completed the veteran's pavers to honor heroes from our community, but we would like to enhance the project by purchasing a marble tablet to stand tall at the start of the Veteran's Memorial to make it even more special. The Parsons Area Community Foundation was generous enough to donate $5,000 towards the project, which is almost 30% of the project costs, but we still have a way to go. For those interested in purchasing a veteran's paver, please reach out to the Altamont City Office.

Other areas the City would like to use these donations are to upgrade the Altamont City Pool with a larger sunshade and to continue to maintain and upkeep the City's ball fields and recreation areas, just to name a few. Thank you for your time and consideration.
