Specific Need

Labette Assistance Center provides support with basic needs such as food, rent, utility assistance, hygiene items, cleaning supplies, prescription assistance, emergency shelter and referral services to our neighbors in Labette County.  We have seen a33% increase of new families requesting assistance.  Client and administrative funds are needed to continue our mission.

Our mission is to help our neighbors in Labette County in their time of need.

Profile

Specific goals of the LCEAC are preventing hunger, utility disconnection, and eviction. Additional services include emergecy shelter, budget counseling, resource referral, USDA commodity distribution, diapers, formula, and prescription payment assistance. All services are provided free of charge, and all payments are made directly to vendors, with no cash being given to clients.

LCEAC collaborates extensively throughout the community. We are in continual contact with city offices, utility vendors, landlords, and local service agencies.  Public education is provided to civic organizations, community groups and community leaders to keep them abreast of the need in our community as well as vital resources available to meet those needs.
